Mandy's Creations

As of right now this is only MUSIC! Maybe someday I'll create a documentary or a movie but until then I will be writing riffs...

Unhinged - Sinister Forces (Hardcore/Sludge)

palimpsests

This is a full length recording of a bunch of demos we had put out the year before. Back then we didn't have a bassist and so we struggled to get a "heavy" sound, though idk I think the demos are fine.

Regarless so much later we have a bassist (Kyle) and all of us have seriously improved on our instruments. The process of getting this out to the public kind of sucked because there wereso many road blocks in the way, from recording mishaps, to delayed masters to my tape player breaking 3 times while duplicating tapes. But after all the trials and tribulations it's finally out and I'm psyched about it.

The direction we were going for her was very much the parts of Eyehategod, especially "In the Name of Suffering" era, where the hardcore influence of their sludge sound came through. It's something I've basically never heard a band do and I was shocked because it seems like the perfect marriage, but alas I guess it'll just be us. It's funny because since we take a lot of influence from doom metal (Sabbath, Electric Wizard), we often get older folks who LOVE us. It's kind of cool to make music that has such a wide generational appeal.

Tears from a Grieving Heart - An Endless Cycle of Wrenching Pain... If Only I Could Feel Hate (Funeral Doom/Sludge)

palimpsests

This was my first full length album that I participated in and I'm very proud of it in so many ways. We recorded this all in one day and it was so grueling. We did live recordings with a metronome and had 3 seperate recordings, one for Marrowed, and two for the two parts of Godless. When playing that slow for so long, it's just horrifying to keep your focus locked in for that long. Anyways it worked and we made it.

The band had been around for 6 years prior to releasing this record. It really was trial by fire. Almost every time we were almost ready to record something bad happened. Interpersonal fighting mostly. Turns out it's very hard to keep a band writing extremely emotional music together.

This album was heavily inspired by Temple of Abandonment, who I really hope records more music. Besides that I mostly was just listening to a lot of gothic metal at the time I was writing the guitar parts. What ended up being created is just extremely dark. I can kind of hardly listen to this record anymore but I do know there are devoted fans out there. I think after playing this for 6 years straight, finally getting release made me not want to hear it anymore.

The first time I played a song from this live I remember it was before we had a vocalist. So just drums and guitar and I couldn't keep my composure at the end. I never leave shows early if I don't have to but that night I did. To be honest I'm not entirely sure what Godless Abomination meant to me anymore. I really think it was just some really bad feelings that needed to come out. I don't think I'm that person anymore and that's a good thing.
